Renowned Composer and Pianist Michael Errington is a distinguished composer of Anglo-French descent, whose illustrious career spans an array of film and television projects. Furthermore, he has graced audiences worldwide with his captivating concert performances, including solo recitals in prominent cities such as Los Angeles, Cannes, Munich, Berlin, and Oslo.

Errington’s remarkable talent earned him acclaim in the world of cinema, most notably for his exceptional soundtrack in the critically acclaimed independent film “The Art of Passion” (also known as “Unconditional Love”). This exceptional composition was honored with the prestigious Golden Starfish Award at Steven Spielberg’s Hampton’s Film Festival, where he and the film’s director, Arthur Egeli, were presented the trophy by the Grammy Award-winning Producer/Composer Quincy Jones. Kevin Thomas, a critic from the Los Angeles Times, lauded Errington’s score in his review of “The Art of Passion,” describing it as “elevating the film with ethereal beauty and adding a poignant touch of intimacy.”

In addition to its success at the Hampton’s Film Festival, the film also clinched the Gold Award at the Houston International Film Festival and received recognition at the New York Film Festival. Errington’s talent extends beyond the silver screen, as he composed the captivating soundtrack for the award-winning documentary “The Lost World of the Crystal Skull.” This documentary earned the distinction of being named the Best Feature Documentary at the Mexico International Film Festival and the Waterford Film Festival in Ireland, where the jury bestowed upon him a special ‘Musical Commendation’ for his exceptional score.

Errington’s journey began at the University of Southern California School of Cinema and Television music program, where he had the privilege of studying under the guidance of Oscar-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith and Emmy-winning composer Basil Poledouris. His talents extended to the stage, where he played the piano for the iconic Kate Bush and the legendary group Toto, accompanying David Paich, Jeff Porcaro, and Mike Porcaro. He has also collaborated with artists such as Icehouse and Barclay James Harvest and had the honor of performing for the legendary Stevie Wonder.

Over the past decade, Michael Errington has garnered a devoted following in Germany, owing to his captivating performances at the Berlin Film Festival and Munich Film Festival. He graced the stage at the Gasteig Concert Hall with a mesmerizing solo piano recital, paying tribute to actress Jacqueline Bisset, who was receiving the CineMerit lifetime achievement award from Maximilian Schell.

One of his notable achievements includes the broadcast of his live performance of the piano album “All Is Forgiven” and selections from his film scores on Germany’s ZDF television network. Michael Errington’s exceptional talent continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music and film.

Among his numerous honors, he was awarded “The One Future Prize” by the Munich Film Festival. This accolade recognized his “outstanding musical contribution,” solidifying his status as a notable composer and performer in the world of music. This was the first time a composer had been given this award at the Munich Film Festival.

However, Michael Errington’s impact extends far beyond the stage. He is an active supporter of charitable causes, demonstrating his commitment to making the world a better place. During the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), he held a solo concert in honor of Hollywood luminaries Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the Cinema for Peace fundraising event. This act of generosity not only showcased his musical talent but also his dedication to supporting charitable endeavors.

In 2015, at the Cannes Film Festival, Michael Errington graced the stage with a live piano concert, where he performed several unreleased piano compositions from his album “All Is Forgiven.” This performance was held in support of The Heart Fund and Generous People charity ball, organized by the renowned French heart surgeon, Dr. David Luu. The event took place in the grand setting of the Carlton Hotel’s Grand Ballroom and was attended by distinguished guests, including Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio and socialite Paris Hilton. Michael Errington’s contribution to this charitable endeavor demonstrated his commitment to using his musical talents to make a positive impact in the world.

In addition to his musical endeavours, Michael Errington is a proud member of BAFTA LA (The British Academy Of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles), highlighting his connection to the world of film and television.
